The Huge Corpion Discrepency

I'm not sure if this is intended or perhaps just an oversight, but I want to talk about Huge Corpions.

In terms of habitat (typically 5 skull zones), max health, and damage they can do to a player, they're about on par (or even slightly deadlier, due to poison) than your elder wolves, but only yield 300 xp for skinning instead of 500. It really "feels" like these should be brought up to the same level, producer xp wise, of similar difficulty level creatures.


3skull/4skull variants:
Timber Wolf / Large Timber Wolf - 300 xp
Grizzly Bear - 300 xp


5skull variants:
Elder Wolf - 500 xp
Large Grizzly Bear - 500 xp
Bear Patriarch - 500 xp
Huge Corpion - 300xp

I noticed that in the Vabaun Pass.

 

Maybe it's because they can give glands to produce poison, but i agree to balance this by lowering xp is bad.

 

Well in terms of 'stuff you get' - I don't really think that's the issue as such.
They all give hide/thrombus/suet/etc.
Wolves/Bears give heads and carcasses, which from a 'value' perspective are worth more than the corpion claw/tail/gland, based on the number/quantity that drop. They also have the chance at pristine heads for various types.
I don't think there's enough disparity in the loot to account for the dramatic XP difference. I would say that the corpion parts are more or less equivalent to head/carcass drops.
