The option to have alternative quest outcomes.

    I don't know if they have this kind of quests in game yet, but I realized that there didn't seem to be many options for quests to allow for choices of outcome. Most quests I've noticed typically progress in linear like way.

    One quest in particular I thought of a NPC I had just met in a tavern, then sending me on a quest to kill someone. There was no offer to refuse the quets, neither to abandon the quest (that I know of).

    There are a few side quests that have two NPCs wanting you to give them the same thing (Sunless Barrens has one such quest, as does Soltown Catacombs) to choose which "side" you support. When you turn in the item(s) involved to NPC A, you cannot later get another batch to give to NPC B.

    I believe in certain quests you still get the quest reward item involved, however, the choice you make affects your standing in certain Virtues.

    Also, for the non-journal Puzzles, the Shaminian Hills puzzle has a choice of options to complete with the end result (which buff/blessing you receive) being based on which of the options you choose.

    Yes, a choice we have.
    Truth we can tell or not in more than only one quest.
    Decisions we kan make ...
    Refusing we can to kill others.
    Of course, more of them is needed.
    Episode 2 promising is ;)

    There's the whole quest where you can choose the Whiteguard vs the Skull League, so it's not in fact true, the OP.

    Do we need more of it ? Yes. But given the state of the quest system (I still have to give that pesky Cyannis his report, even tho I did that years ago ! ) we should probably wait until that gets revamped first.

    You can choose to believe the person you're tasked to kill and spare his life which, in turn, gives you a completely different objective... ending the quest in a non-violent way.
