It isn't bribery. But the fact she pays you for doing evil and not walking the path is highly questionable.

Yeah... no. Sorry. It has the most warped version of everything. I've never lied and always spoken truly to every NPC, completed every quest that pushes truth over any other attribute (Owl's Head has a few) and yet it randomly one day decided that I hold truth in disdain for no reason (has never given a reason for the switch to the negative view). Until the Oracle actually says why it sees you doing something wrong, then there is no consequence for actions because it doesn't say what actions it is expecting for that virtue. Blind judgement doesn't assist with consequences of actions.

I've made the choice of following my own conscience and do what I feel is right, rather than following the advice of a mechanical statue that is probably either programmed or being operated by a person/being that I no nothing about.
I do not like to blindly follow anyone, whether in game or in RL.

Ahh, but if she told you what you did wrong, then you'd rely on her to tell you all the time. You wouldn't think as deep on your actions. I agree her ideals may be warped, but that can also be a way to get you to think more about it all.

[Also, I'm sure they are not done with all the triggers for virtue plus/minus, and I'm sure they have more ideas on getting feedback from her, so that explains some of the inconsistency.]

 

Now this is a movement I can get behind . I would love for game features to allow us to "raid" story towns and smash the temples and shrines and pillage the shops. Not that my avatar would want to do that directly ;-). But yes, I will join in the scrutiny of the Oracle and the health of the true spirituality of Novia.
