GPU: GeForce GTX 870M/PCIe/SSE2 GPU RAM: 3GB

Area: Novia

Also observed in OS X patch 455. Noted that black sky is overlaying / clipping scene titles in overworld view.

 

It's not just the sky, the lighting is totally screwed. This is Nightshade Pass at midnight:

It's interesting how the bugs just creep back into the Linux client. Now the sky is black and we can't play SPO. What's next?

 

It's OS X as well, so you have company in misery. The Oracle apparently hates *nix.

 

At least they fixed fog/mist for OS X. They left it broken for Linux.

 

Yep, adding to this as a Linux bug too.

 

Confirmed here too. Ubuntu 14.04, 64-bit client, patch 455, GTX 750 Ti.

 

Still broken in OS X patch 456

@Lord Barugon Mist is still opaque in OS X as well.

 

half fixed with 456. night-time lighting works, but sky is still black.

 

Another chime-in from me. Ubuntu 16.04, nVidia 780GTX. The black sky is an overlay as reported. If I pan around with a light spell going the light spell is covered by any and all "sky". Would really like to see the amazing sky again.

 

Sky is no longer black for me in patch 458.
