Tracking visitors

Is there any way to track how many people visit your POT? use Oracle? fishing? Use Vendors, etc.

Only if it's data that resides in the API ( which is accessible if you have the ability ).
The exception would be regarding Vendors- to the degree that - if they are yours - and you sold anything - then you receive notice of each sale in your mail.

 

Thanks for the reply, did the tracking so far with the email sales but will check the API to see if I can get more info.

 

I would love to see at least the number of daily/monthly POT visits!
Names would be a bonus.

 

There's not really much in the API to use for figure this out. No "zone in" event or anything like that. Best, I have right now is consuming an item. Which isn't a very good metric to use for this kind of thing. I will do a little more digging as I have time this week. Maybe there's some even I missed.

I do track per-town data at https://sotaprices.com/d/BGrPfognz/towns. But, honestly, there's not enough merchants regularly uploading their data to make it useful beyond just a vague idea of what's going on.

 

I put in a wishlist request a while ago asking for a count of people that have opened a vendor. It would be nice to know if 3 people or 30 have seen your vendor.
Although selling a handful of COTOs for 99 gold let's me know at least one person has been there

I am trying to think of how the chat windows can be used to track visitors. One thing came to mind was the MOTD for POTs. Is there anyway that the MOTD can be counted every time it is posted? I understand the message is in the visitors window and not countable but is there a global or API way that can see this?

Will keep thinking.

 

Player owned towns and villages should have the option to be built with a moat, wall and a closed gate where the hired townguard collects a toll for entering from everyone, say 1 gold - then the amount of gold in the box would be the number of people entering...
