Two types of raw cotton: what don't I understand?

    Slightly confused with what seems to be two different types of raw cotton. The problem is that the name and icons for both types is exactly the same, but the price is far different.

    6 Raw Cotton worth 1200, and 7 Raw Cotton worth 35. It seems that I can craft with the cheaper cotton but not the more expensive cotton. So what's the more expensive type for?

    More importantly: where did you get the expensive cotton? So far I've never IIRC received it from harvesting. I've only seen it for sale on vendors.

    No idea! I did see some cotton in the crafting pavilion which is more expensive (as you are saying). I don't recall if I picked it up or not:

    a few releases ago, they had spider eye mislabeled raw cotton. at one point they also had two types of corpse wax. it's probably supposed to be something else.

    I know you can get it from cotton plants in the Mysterious Swamp. You can probably get it from cotton plants elsewhere, but I've spent most of my time in the MS this release.

    It could be that I got mine from Deep Ravenswood. I spent a couple hours there gathering as much as possible, including cotton, but I really can't remember.

    Could be a duplicate entry.. or it could be an exotic cotton that's mislabeled. Could also be a place holder for something else.

    I get the expensive cotton in Deep Ravenswood. It is good for selling, I think it should have different name though. It is bit rare drop, I get it about 20% times there.

    Had to Google that, but it sounds like higher quality cotton. Perhaps that's what it is!

    The cotton, like many items is just mislabeled. You can go to the Tailor in Owl's Head and see an example of many mislabeled items (cloaks) and duplicate items (cloaks). I post a bug report a week ago, Chaox responded and is on the case.

    My guess would be, they're "placeholders" for an item that has no graphics yet... I have quite a lot of them myself, and since they're worth alot of gold, I'm hanging on to them... I've gotten them from many cotton plants, it's a random drop thingy, I get them more often in High level areas... Like the Mysterious swamp or the Dark forest...
