Since you said that you were upping the tier level of Ulfheim, I thought I'd check out what you've done.
    Here's what I found:

I see that you've removed the 671 HP Patriarch Bears, and replaced them with 921 HP "Large Grizzly Bears".

When I saw that.............. I wondered:

A: Why on earth would you use the same damn name as we have with all our 447 HP "existing" Large Grizzly Bears all over the world in, oh say.... Tier 4's.

B: How are our newer avatars ever to understand something as stupid as A - when they encounter a "normal" Large Grizzly out in the rest of wild ?

C: Is anyone over there doing any forward thinking at all ? (Sorry, I have to ask)....

But then, I don't want to be too obtuse in my "analysis" of this particular change.

So, @Port - having said all that............

Which one of these will you "rename" ?

Since the Ulfheim "Large Grizzly Bears" now have more HP's than our current Obsidian Bears, may I suggest "Ultra Obsidian Bears" as the new name.

Oh, and how long will it be before we can expect them to drop a carcass that will be the next best food, and when are those Pristine Heads coming ?

Can't wait to hear your response, assuming of course, that this post doesn't find itself in the mod trash can............;)

@FrostII AFAIK it is already common to have the same enemy (monster, bandit, skeleton etc.) with different HP, depending on the zone, circumstances etc

the best example (for me atm) are the siege engineers some are green others yellow to me (adv lvl 89), but it also happens with all others

if you are in the right adventurelevel zone you can differentiate them through their colour small HP grreen, more HP yellow, much more orange or red

the farther you advance in adv. lvl they all get green...

@Rentier I've seen this variation regularly with humanoids; as you say, bandits, skeletons, ghosts, lichs, etc, but I can't recall seeing it in animals.

Animals tend to have a specific name associated with their hit points and stats.
I may be wrong, but I'm wracking my brain and I can't recall seeing a named animal with different stats in different locations.

you also have this with animals IIRC with spiders, wolfs and bears (but last time i fought them was R52) and especially tamed wolfs in bandit encounters (definitely in R54)

The high tiered bears have terrible names. They were not in many scenes before but with tier upgrades it's become more obvious. Expect a fix hopefully in R56.

It would be cool to stumble across a rare spawned one (rarley).

My QA patch broke during my last attempt to download it (its started over from patch 0 so I canceled it). I was going to check Ulfeim out since that is my main mixed farming area with a thousand hours in it.

    So questions:

    1) did that bear give you more xp?
    2) did that bear give you better drops? (it should drop better stuff)
    3) did that bear give you more then 500 prod XP when you skinned it? (it should yes, probably 800 xp to match 8 skull)

What else did you find in there that was different? Was their higher level undead, wolves, bears, boars and wolf clan? Was it solo orientated? Did it still have Reapers?

If these are the 'same' 971 hp large grizzlies that you'd occasionally see in Ulfheim and elsewhere, they give a bit more adv xp but still 500 producer and what appears to be the same loot - there were never enough to kill in bulk to get an idea if there were better rates on carcasses, or whatever. I'm excited by the prospect of fighting 'lots' of them but, if the producer is still only 500xp, ulfheim will no longer be as lucrative for producer due to increased kill time with no xp gain increase

I got a tooth off of one once, so I suspect it's the same as obsidian bears, minus the obsidian carcass.

Could be like the higher tier “Tamed Wolf” spawn in bandit zones, where the wolf is actually a renamed obsidian wolf (if the carcass it gives you when you skin it is to be believed)

It might be possible to get an obsidian carcass off of the large grizzly too. I've only killed maybe five or six of them total.

Can we just make them obsidian bears so we have a nice place to farm obsidian carcasses? Or perhaps utra bear carouses with a new food recipe.

Just call them trained bears,as they are considered a part of the bear clan berserker faction as far as I can tell. NO! Call them War Bears!

    obsidian wolves boars and stags.

the large and pat bears do not give obsidian carcasses or are very rare compared to obsidian bears.

Well, there are wolf (or is it bear) clan mobs along with undead in the area. Those bears could be some cultist version of a Grizzly so call them "corrupt grizzly bear".
