I tested a bit further on this and found out that it specifically was the blacksmithing and smelting stations that I was unable to place outdoors.

And then I noticed that those two stations count as lightning objects and I had reached my max outdoor lightning objects earlier.
If I removed another light I could place one of the stations.
So I guess it wasn't a bug, but I sure didn't think of the stations as lightning objects.

Come on, even if they bring a little light don't treat them as lightning objects, please?.. ;)
