Currently many people would consider the summon and taming system broken because of their lack of survivability and damage. The problem with fixing these issues is it would be unbalanced for pets to be powerful without some kind of drawbacks.

This issue is balanced with a focus cost at the moment, but the focus cost isn't enough of a deterrent if pets actually became powerful.

I'm suggesting that they create a third kind of enchanting or master working that applies pet bonuses to items, but also takes the enchanting and master crafting slots. This way players who want powerful pets, would have to also forgo bonus of other kinds from enchanting and master working.

I believe this new "pet enchanting" item ability should also use the gems and attunement slots for extra bonuses to pets of all kinds.

This way of fixing pets would also be much more balanced than just increasing the power of base pets. It would also create lots of new crafting possibilities for players.

    Thanks.

Interesting Idea, but pets would need to be worth using. Right now they arnt at higher levels losing 30-40% of your focus on top of the new slower focus regen makes them horrible.

Also you already lose the neck slot with a pet atm, and thats pretty huge.

I agree that pets need to be worth using. In its current form though they can't make a pet as strong as a player because there's no classes, and every single player would use pets. There needs to be trade offs and builds.

If the pets stayed the same as they are now, but got much better with each piece of pet enchanted gear the player wore, those players would have to make a choice. They would have to give up attunement and stat increases they would of normally got, to make the pet very powerful.

Now we have more build diversity, instead of every person and their grandmother running around with pets. The people who do want to be a "pet class" now have the option to do so.

For tamed pets to take another hit, youd need to up their base speed by 50%. Their dmg by 25-30%. Im fine with high focuse demand, but not for the current anyhtign else of them.
