Basically ill use Epic Leather as an example to my question.

If i make Epic Boots with -
    2 Yards - Hard leather
    1 Strap - Supple Leather
    etc etc

    And then
    2 yards - Supple Leather
    1 Strap - Hard Leather
    etc etc

    And then
    2 Yards - Supple Leather
    1 Strap - Supple Leather
    etc etc

    And once agian
    2 Yards - Hard Leather
    1 Strap - Hard Leather
    etc etc

Am i sacraficing any bonuses from doubling up the same kind compared to using a variety?

Supple in this example adds Crit chance %, If i go PURE supple materials across the board ( example 3 ) am i taking any hit to the overall gains as opposed to using more then 1 type of material ?
Obviously Crit is more important to me in this example, but by going PURE crit, and i sacraficing , say 20-50% of the value of the strap, compared to if i use hard instead? And vise versa , hard hard, hard supple etc.
Or do i get the full value of the item regardless of the other peices?
So sumarrized, is there a negative to stacking same type of bonuses on same peices of equipment?

I've found it to be "get the full value of the item regardless of the other pieces" in fact I think you can see the individual bonuses on the final product when you hit Ctrl on it (e.g. +6% Crit, then +7%Crit). So no negative to stacking same bonus/mat, just the trade off of the other potential bonuses you could have had.

i was wondering the same thing. Although i was dealing with bows not armor. Different woods with different strings. To me though its a crap shoot. LOL. I get what i get no matter. But got some pretty nice bows in the long run. The bonus stuff other than the materials is definitely roll of the dice.

For bows you can do Supple and Pine which doubles up the crit chance. I belive on bows it stacks with no loss from self testing.
More and more i play with it, it looks like it just stacks with no negatives in all crafting.

It used to be penalizing to use the same bonus material, but that was changed quite a while ago.

    Everything adds now

regular pine for me, saw one of the others, wasnt impressed but havnt played with the other types too much yet. The bonuses on Wiki didnt appeal to me too much.
Regular pine, with supple Longbow = 20% base crit chance .

Crimson pine is +focus% could be ok for a healer etc who didn't want wand/staff and stay ranged.

    Regular pine is crit%
