Using the wrong repair kit

At my blacksmith table at home, put a badly worn harvesting axe on it, meant to drag a blacksmith repair kit on it but grabbed a tailoring one by mistake, dropped it on the axe and it repaired up to full rating (no increase to the maximum durability, but all the 'current' durability was repaired in one go)....

And after a bit more testing - it seems any repair kit wil repair any crafting tool to it's current max durability in one go. Expensive way to fix a 10gp tool, but still a little strange!
