Vendor NPC once again how / why are they walking?

It is getting very old that my vendors walk, sure they do not go far but they go straight thru the walls and gate.

I cannot figure out what setting there are to make them static or walk and if a walk what route to take.

This goes for every pet also, some walk some don't ???

What makes them walk, is there a setting I can chose to make them walk straight squares, circles ??????

This has not once been answered and sorry but just plain :-(
