Water Damage while swimming?

    Not sure if this is something new with R35, but while in Vertas if I swim across the river I begin taking damage to my Health, and a "blank" icon (sm. square with no picture/icon) appears below my Health/Focus bars and the tool-tip indicates I am taking "Water damage"...10 dmg. every 2 seconds for 6 seconds, and -10 Focus Regen. Is this something new?

    this is ice damage from the freezing water. the icon is horrible, and i don't think it mentions anything about the cold/ice part (and not new).
