Weapon Repair?

What am I missing? I have tried making and buying blacksmithing repair kits... can't repair weapons. I can repair shields and armor pieces...

 

Does your weapon have a wooden handle ? If so, they are probably Carpentry Repair items, and you need to use that repair kit instead.

I noticed that carpenters could completely repair items in the past up to max durability, where repair kits did nothing to keep up max durability. How does that work? Is it just the crafter using the repair kit that makes the difference?

 

There is a Skill component associated with repairing... Perhaps those players simply had a large skill.

Other than that, it is largely random how much actually gets repaired : I have repaired up to Max with one kit, and then required two the next time. Pretty much a crap-shoot at the moment as far as I can tell.

 

Are there any vendors that repair?

 

NPC vendors ? You can buy repair kits off the Weapons Merchant which you can use yourself.
