I was a little disappointed by the rain at first (big white bird droppings???) UNTIL the thunderstorms appeared! Wow! Excellent immersion! Although I did keep turning to see lightning bolts... But the sound and flashes was incredible! Thank you!

I too saw/heard the thunderstorm today and I must say I was impressed, really well done imo.

Same here, definitely like the thunder and flashes, didn't see any lightning though.

I love the thunder and lightning.. as well as the rain. I stood watching the weather for 20 minutes, looking to see where the lightning would strike next.. wondering if it would hit me :D

It's a pretty good start.. I do think the rain drop splashes are a bit over the top but otherwise...

Is there any indication on the weather? I mean how do we know what weather it is in the scenes? Will the weather also appear on the overland map, so that we know if it rains in a scene?

Also is there a system behind the weather? For example in Ultima 9 a storm was moving across the map.

    • Rain and Cloudiness: Weather makes a debut in R21, with rainstorms on Monday mornings. In future releases, weather will be linked to seasons, time of day, and regions. Also, these do not have any effects on gameplay for now, but we also have plans for that in future releases—especially when agriculture comes online.
Mostly random and a decent first pass at any weather in the game. Very much looking forward to seeing future improvements.

Haha... I'd like to see that Troll slip and fall in to the mud... Pick himself up, and slip again... That would be hilarious... Maybe give us a "rain" spell to target him only.... Have a group rain on his parade...

Having the weather affect the terrain which in turn affects gameplay mechanics such as combat would be very cool. Yeah, it would be very cool if you can cause it using magic or other means too.

I was very pleased with the rain. I was afraid it would cause lag.

I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
    Strange how the night moves
    With autumn closing in

That would be awesome to see on the overland map.

I also was wondering if we could get hit by lightning. That does not always cause death. We might twitch for a bit.

The rain is awesome I very much enjoyed it. I just left Kingsport and stood and watched the lightning flashes light up the buildings and bridge in the dark. It was perfect.
The rain drops could be improved a little but overall the devs nailed it.

Can't wait heavy winds and the frozen rain.

    And I'm going insane
And I'm laughing at the frozen rain
