What about API's?

Hello everyone,
I'm not sure I'm posting at the right section, if not please some staff move for me!

So to begin, I was thiking (as a developer), will there be some sort of public API's for us to create some kind of Wiki or sotaDB. As it is now, the both sites is mainting the data manually, since its in pre-alpha, it will change A LOT data, every release, so I was thinking if there will be any kind of API so we can query items, monsters, NPCs, only public data, nothing that could be abused, but the information would be a great thing for the community, if we could build some sort of wiki with all data being 100% accurate, it would be great.
I imagine it would take a lot of work for the securty issues of opening a public API, but I think this would be a great step for the community, and for the new players.
