What happened to the boat to Hidden Vale?

The boat from Hidden Vale to Novia is there but the return boat is now gone. I really don't want to run through Ardoris just to get back to Hidden Vale.

 

You can use the lunar rift between Solace Bridge and Owl's Head

 

also, you can use the Ardoris gondolas to go directly between the main gate and the docks

 

Is that new? I haven't been to Ardoris since R20.

 

Aren't you going to eventually want people to run through the towns to run them buy all the player owned vendors though?

Before: I simply used the boat from the world map to get to the Hidden Vale. I only had to wait for the Hidden Vale map to load, which was fast.

Now: I have to enter Ardoris, wait (a long time) for it to load, run to the boat man, talk to him, click "docks", double click the Kingsport boat, wait for Kingsport to load then run to the exit or exit to menu and start on world map.

So, why was the boat removed? Was it simply to make traveling even less fun?

 

Ardoris has always been a major pain in the butt for me. It is only since turning my video settings to 'fastest' that I'm able to manage it well. So to have to go through Ardoris or take a rift that won't be there later on just to get to my preferred hunting grounds later on is kind of annoying.

 

For me it look like they davs are forcing us to WASTE more our time (and i hate when someone don't value my free time) in game that 1 bad change cost plenty of time. Enter Ardoris (wait 1 minute or more to load - for me it is 115 seconds) then use gondola to docks another 30s next enter Kingsport (another scene loading which take 90s) then Exit to menu and start play in world map (30s) it is faster than running whole Kingsport and exiting to Hidden Valley. So every time i want travel To HV i waste minimum 4 minutes !!!

 

Agree, i think the idea was the game to be more immersive but it's actually frustrating.

However in the story it is tell that ships are blocked in Kingsport, and Anton and his smuglers at the dock refuse to take passengers on their boats...

People want playability and immersivity together

 

Lordjulius have you finished that quest this release by any chance? I wonder if the boats return then?

 

That would almost make sense if they removed the boats from Hidden Vale to Novia and not the boat from Novia to Hidden Vale.

 

@Siriustar, I think Anton make too much profits at the moment to change his mind...

@Sir Barugon, you're right the passage between Kingsport and Novia is actually working. Another contradiction is Ships appearing on the world map and not at the docks in town

 

The point of living in Ardoris, is that it is a port city where everyone must run through to travel between Novia and where ever it leads to (much like on-map PoTs are acting as hubs to other 'hidden' PoTs. I believe the port to Hidden Vale will move to a port up North on Spindrift Bay once that area is developed, but for now that port is Ardoris. If direct map to boat access was removed on purpose, I can only imagine it was done to force people to discover and test out the new R20 ferrymen, otherwise they would have removed the boat from the Hidden Vale map as well.

Odd, I thought the latest patch read that the map boat accesses were being added back. I sense changes coming in the next patch if it's not working..
