What is the SDD stat on weapons for?

What is SDD stat on weapons? I have searched and searched and cannot figure it out. The only guess I have is that it will affect magic type skills once they come into the game.

 

Strength Damage Divider. Darkstarr mentioned it possibly meant that the lower the number, the higher bonus damage?

Not confirmed, just something he mentioned in IRC.

My guess its decides how well your damage scales with your strength.
so a SSD of 5 means you get +1 damage for every 5 strength you has.

 

I'm glad someone else asked this. I've been very interested in knowing what this meant ever since I got a wand with SDD: 1000.
