Why are there so many pumpkin patches?

I am just curious if there is hidden meaning or motivation for all the pumpkin patches. Don't get me wrong, I love them and especially love they are not empty planting beds. Just want to make sure I am not missing something.

 

Crafting orange dyes are a good source of producer xp (the next double xp is on not far off) though for me I'm working on a goal of collecting a range of trophy pumpkins with the largest only dropping during in game autumnal months so that when I grown them.

 

yeah seems to make a lot of xp, not sure how much as I dont make them but there is enough people doing it makes me really wonder how much xp on average. usually when you see things this much it could be something not intended, and considering all the other dyes give one amount of xp whats special with pumpkins.... over looked bug maybe? who knows. get me some numbers

 

My success chance is close to 50% so I worked the average of both crafting normal and exceptional xp returns.

• 1,800 Aqua Dye
• 2,400 Dark Aqua
• 1,800 Orange Dye
• 2,400 Dark Orange

 

well I went to the source and xp is in line with the rest as far as dyes go. I didnt look into other things made with pumpkins so more than likely just as stated people with lots of land using it as an xp farm.

 

Thanks for making this thread. Funny I was just in a town called Solaris (I think) and wondered the SAME things about pumpkins. I haven't found a good recipe for them yet.

 

I've one or two on display in Lained.

 

whenever i plant my farms with pumpkins they sell out near instantly so i grow them mainly for sale.

 

orange dye = 5 pumpkins = ez xp.
