Working in a Coalmine...

Anyway...smartas* as I am...I spend my time in Desolis a few builds ago. Was a nice causi place, me, my pickaxe and the dozens of copper nodes down there. We had a party most evening after work...I swear, I knew them all by name, and after a few days I was able to make my first weapons and armors.

Started a new character last weekend, I even survived the Moonshadepass (really did) and went back to Desolis, ready to do my troglodyte thing again...and found the copper nodes as I left them...when suddenly.

a freaking 440 HP slime came out of nowhere and made sure the party was over.

So...who ever is responsible for putting that slime exactly there and cut me off my dark cave filled with copper...I hate you. I know, I know...it wasnt ment personal...game development and such.

But dude...not my cave! I was ready to crawl back in it like a hermit, but nooo...Mr Slime toke my place. He doesnt even need that copper...he's just sliming around down there.

So...anyone has a tip for me, preferably a place you can mine metals with an rince/repeat procedure, if possible without any adds jumping you...so someone can build up some stock in metal to craft stuff for friends?

 

Owls Nest is still okay once you make it into the mine. There's a bunch of bandits there but they don't attack me for some reason, so there's basically no mobs.

...anything around the resolute area? Well, I know Desolis is not the Resolute area, but since I'm not using any scrolls for my travels (still find those silly) any known location over there is welcome.

 

There are two wolves but they're not too hard to deal with and they don't respawn long as you don't leave.

First of all - that is my cave, I saw it first

But yes, they added the slime in R30 or R31 I think. They're tricky because as you beat them down they split into more smaller slimes and you need to be able to attack multiple targets to have a chance. immolate used to work very well for me there.

I'm sure your post was somewhat in jest but I'm really glad they are gating the good resources a little more. There needs to be some risk in gathering at that rate to keep ore value reasonable for gatherers to be able to make a profit.
