so you are saying that there are no individual on the forums? how do we separate our differences? Do you think we are in game right now? I think its pretty clear we are in real life and we are adults talking

You separate playstyles with respect for those that like them. "********" was born as a pejorative for those who have a certain playstyle who didn't appreciate or respect the playstyle of another group.

For example... While I don't wish to engage in PvP, I respect the fact that there are those that enjoy it... even those forms of it that I personally find repugnant... and have Always supported the PvP Community in achieving whatever it is that they wish for Shroud of the Avatar to become in that regard with the Sole and Singular proviso that I be allowed to not participate.

 

ok, if this is true then you shall never say pk, or griefer or any other word for pvp than "avatar" then I will agree to your terms. Is this ok?

 

I say PvP+ or PvP Community, or PvP Avatar/Player/Fan/Aficionado/etc.

 

I never liked noob, but I'm ok with newb.

 

so what is the alternate for care bear in your opinion? What word (singular) would you use to paraphrase what a ******** is? One that would not be offensive toward you or anyone?

 

Originally it was anyone that didn't like PvP and/or attached significance to their "Pixels"... Those that employed it originally held anyone that took offense to their tactics of gang killing, dismemberment, destroying looted possessions for the sport of it, corpse dancing, feigning defecation on said corpse, hurling insults and the like as anything but good clean fun in contempt and couldn't figure out why any of that might offend someone.

How about PvP-, PvE+, PvE Community, or any of the previous list with PvE substituted for PvP.

 

I am just trying to reach a mutual agreement that will not get us moderated. So what term would you use for griefing/pking and what term should we use for ******** that would not offend people? Being called a greifer for actually using game mechanics is wrong also when the term proper term would be pvp'r. So can we get a couple terms that would be appropriate for both of us, and we can present them to Berek for approval. That way we can use the terms without recourse.

 

I don't see the need or necessity to arrive at a 'politically correct' term for any of them... To suggest an acceptable term for PK or Griefer would simply be changing the label and not the meaning, just as substituting Lovepanda for ********. Also, so long as my option to not participate in PvP is honored, I have very little interest in what the subdivisions of the PvP+ community are called as it does not affect my existence in the least. Call them whatever you wish. I've no opinion.

 

obviously there is a need. People are getting moderated for the terms. If you do not see a need for a term that is not offensive then how can we talk politically correct? surely there is something out there that is not offensive.

 

Perhaps. I have no need personally. To me the PvP+ Community is monolithic... I don't care to have differing labels for whatever subdivisions there may be... I will accept, though likely never use, whatever terms the PvP+ Community decides are acceptable to them. I will offer no opinion.

I am just trying to work with you her bud. No need to brush me off. I do not want you to offend me and I do not want to be offended. So lets get a consensus and present it to berek together. That way they can sticky at the entrance at the forums what words can and cannot be used in here. It will save a lot of moderation in the future.
