Limited Early R55 QA Testing Instructions - Please read!

@Kaffien do you use a proxy?

 

I do not use a proxy @CatweazleX . At home now, same router. I am able to patch quick like in windows with the QA sota patcher (non steam).

The patcher in windows is getting 14MB/s in windows.

I will test the Linux version as well shortly after this windows one finishes.

 

Mis adventures in linux .... upgrade from 16.04 to 17.10 to 18.04 worked. ... don't judge me i have no usb stick
in the house.. I said don't judge me. Testing on hold for a day.

 

Ok its 2am its a new day. Base ubuntu 18.04 installed.
The deb files still cause the X server to reset.

The tar.gz files are telling me the following when I try to run Shroud of the Avatar - Launcher.x86 or x86_64.
./Shroud of the Avatar - Launcher.x86: No such file or directory

This is a pretty base install. Is there any Linux requirements i might be missing?

 

I'm writing a basic tutorial on this. The no such file or directory error tells you that you are running 64bit OS and lack a 32bit compatibility library.

 

Using the 32bit linux installer I'm able to achieve 15MB/s through the same router with less setup even.

The 64 bit installer continues to crash my Xserver session forcing it to restart Xserver / my session.
This happens on two seperate systems. One with an AMD rx580 and one with a Nvidia 1070ti.

There's the link to the tutorial i made regarding SOTA QA on Ubuntu Linux 18.04 using an AMD video card.

Nvidia one is coming if there's any interest.

 

Ok I've gotten to the bottom of the 32bit isntaller downloading at 1KB/s. My ISP chokes the living *@#$* out of 'torrent' traffic.
Due to the launcher using 10 streams it triggers the ISP traffic shaping.

So when do we start testing for non-Linux stuff?

 

Server seems up again, my guess this is the real QA testing period now?

 

A new QA build has been published, version 703! Remember though that this is still fairly early and if testing, the focus should be more on critical/blocker issues rather than bugs with new features.

That's accurate if you are thinking about an 'official' release of the release notes. However, I'm sure he was asking about the first draft, which usually appears with the first official day of QA. this is usually mid-week or so of the week before the official release.

 

Reread your second and third sentence, then reread my response.
Some math may help - R55 is next week Friday.

 

Yeah I was looking for a first draft, it's normally up within a day or two of the QA server going up.

 

Releases are almost always on the last Thursday of the month.

 

Game patched brilliantly, after my ISP remvoed the torrect throttling. To many connections downloading = torrent i guess.

I was able to type in my login credentials, and also able to click connect / login. a small window appeared for half a second
then the client closed to the desktop. The launcher was still open.

 

Do you think the Unicorns are going to make it into r55?

 

At least i took a few notes here and there since R54 of things that may be in this release. So i guess i can take some of that and check it out. Just kinda weird that a week out from Release and no rough draft to work from. Oh well.
