I've completed a new SotA song. Unlike the others I've done, this one isn't a submission intended for the SotA soundtrack. Rather, this song was commissioned Amber Raine of Avatar's Radio. It is intended to be used as the wedding march music at her and Gabriel Nightshadow's in-game SotA wedding ceremony on September 27th of 2015.

It's definitely not something that would fit in the normal SotA soundtrack, as it's got a variety of synthetic sounds, not just pure period instruments like the rest of my SotA work. Besides that, it doesn't sound anything like a conventional wedding march. To those of you who know Amber however, you certainly wouldn't expect anything conventional, right? My charter was to create something that would work at a wedding, but still be edgy and somewhat chaotic, and I think I've been at least semi-successful at that.

The other thing that makes this track unique among my other songs is that it's the only one I've done for SotA that has me doing any singing. (Not much, but a little)

    I hope you enjoy it.

Your piece is an honest reflection of the more typical mystery as yet unrealized in the act of announcing that you will always feel the way you do at this moment.
And especially worthy of two souls coming together in chaos.....

Yea, it works for me...... Well struck, Kailef. ;)

**Edit** Oh yes, like Jynx said -
Feel free to include more of your chanting/meditating vocals in whatever you create. They are effective in adding more feeling to the overall mix...
In fact, I'd love to hear something that you might envision for entering some Undead City ingame... But I guess I digress...

Anyway, a big thumbs up on the piece and, of course, I wish the best for the marriage. May the winds be mostly at your backs, but you know how chaos is.... You've have given it more life than anyone I've heard in a while, Kailef - thx for that...

Thanks for all the positive feedback, everyone. I really appreciate it.

By the way, I've made a few minor tweaks to the song and re-uploaded it. I made the stereo separation a little bit more pronounced, and a EQed off a little bit of the low end from the "heartbeat" bass. It sounded fine on my studio headset, but Holt Ironfell pointed out to me that if you listen to it on a system with a good subwoofer, the 80 Hz range and below was much too pronounced. It sounds better, now.

Wow. I have a thing for chants. Whether it be hindu, gregorian, etc. So this really resonates with me (ha, literally. I had my volume up loud). I think the synthetics give it an old-school sort of feel. The beginning to me sounds like something that would have been a combat theme from one of the original Ultimas...definitely get an Ultima Underworld and U7 vibe from it then immediately Shroud with the more natural instruments. Bravo.

Gah ninja edit! I have to say...I think this would make a bad-ass track for a dungeon or two.

Wow, thanks guys. :) I really appreciate all of the accolades. I'm not sure it's deserved as 75% of my stuff is just work with manipulating, arranging and mixing loops. The other musicians around here are more talented than I am for sure.

That said, in response to what FrostII said here:

If you're looking for me to write something for a "dark place", there are a few songs that I did for the official game soundtrack which are for underground areas and places populated by undead. They are quite different from Matrimony Unhinged since they don't use any modern or synthesized instruments, and I don't sing in any of them, but you may like them nonetheless.

These two, "River Styx" and "Court of Souls", are slated for use in the Necropolis, so definitely lots of darkness and undead here:

"Old Mines" is a song that will be used in various... Yep. Old Mines.

Anyhow, I hope you like them.

I do not use loops in my songs these days but am not against it. I have made songs entirely from loops in the past and they sounded great. Nobody would have ever guessed. All of your tunes are exceptional! You hear music as a musician even though you humbly say you are sort of a newbie. I would never have known you started recently writing music. I have been a musician for over 30 years and you are so good and advanced. The hard part of being a musician is not playing the instrument, it is hearing the music. You have that down without a doubt. You have taught me a lot through your music. It takes a lot of talent to create songs like you have. I can't wait to hear more. I am a fan forever.
