Yeah that would be pretty sweet. Maybe Shroud of the Avatar stickers and buttons and stuff like that we gotta have stuff to promote the game!

I wouldn't be interested in the Blu-ray edition of SotA when it would finally come out 6 years from now ;)

Considering this hypothetical 6-year-late Blu-ray edition would 'feature' a CGI replaced Lord British with a different person, an entirely different endgame soundtrack, and new robots swirling around our heads that didn't exist in the original release, I'm with you! :D

Correct, if you pledge before the 31st and upgrade later, you will still receive the Darkstarr items for an eligible upgraded tier.

Nice. So this way, these monthly rewards are focused on bringing in new backers, and at the same time, encouraging existing backers to upgrade their pledge, all while not punishing any backers who already pledged. :) Sweet!

Yeah, I didn't realize it would work like that. I don't think the marketing is clear on this point. But I'm happy to hear that's how it works and intend to start putting money in by the 31st (on another account).

That seems to be a recurring theme in the SotA dev process in my estimation.

So, theoretically, if I stay on my current tier until next year, and only upgrade to Citizen on the last day pledge upgrades are available, I will get the remaining Darkstarr item? If so, I'm mostly OK with it, since everyone that already pledged will have a chance to get those items for more than half an year yet.

But, on the other hand, I tend to really dislike timed exclusives, or rather any kind of exclusives. I would prefer if those items were still available afterwards, just more expensive or tied to higher pledge tiers. In fact, if I felt any of those items was a must have, and I wasn't already a backer, the fact they are time-limited exclusives would actually reduce my interest in the game.

I'm not sure how common my mindset is, but I can be effectively put off by both being offered exclusive items, and by losing access to (or the chance to get) exclusive items. When I play a game, I like being able to experience the whole game - something that exclusive items I have no way to obtain might prevent - and share the experience with others - which, in the case of in-game items, means being able to help other players get them, or at least being able to point how to do that. I tend to even stop using items as soon as they become unobtainable by new players.

BTW, before anyone reads too much in this, I'm not saying to stop those offers; I'm merely exposing how I think in a thread where feedback about the monthly offers is being collected. I actually think I'm in the minority here and that, in this specific issue, catering mainly to players that think the same way I do might not be in the best interests of the game.

I would say the whole point of this system is to get people to back the game so they have more funding to make it even better. I agree with you in part however I hope there is some sort of more common equivalent to the monthly items for players that aren't able to afford the higher tiers or that didn't know about SotA. Letting people have the exact same exclusive items offered to backers would destroy the whole point of backing early so I don't think that any of the monthly items should be offered after the allotted time to those that didn't back in that time period. I'm a huge fan of allowing upgraders to get the items however because that encourages people to back SotA and also to upgrade their pledges when they can afford it.

Just to get this straight, I can pledge tomorrow (the 31) and that will be in time to get the darkstarr rewards? Or do I have to pledge before 12:00 tonight?

The front page says through the 31st.
I know FireLotus said before the 31st, but really, the 31st is in July.

It's not a "monthly reward" like they initially inferred, and for that I am disappointed.

It's been a 'monthly offer.' The last two were the Viking House and the Tower homes.

Actually, I am kind of glad there isn't a monthly item, as I would probably go broke. :)
