Stop giving us crap we can't bank, trade or destroy

I have over 30 items in my inventory that i can't store, bank, trade or destroy. This is messy and irritating in the extreme.

 

Are they quest items?

 

mostly they are books and notes, leather and cloth gear from starting area, crystal sword and duplicates of quest items from completed quests

 

The last release did seem to make a lot of items non bankable, while I stashed them in R34, I picked up my bank and moved areas, and now of course cant put them back - it covers a lot of items to be honest, while a fair few a probably quest items, theres no markers on them we can see that says we cant bank them, till you try.

 

yeah that is pretty much what happened to me, i think we are meant to be able to bank them so i bugged it.

 

I dont see a problem with banks. Chests and the like, sure maybe not cos maybe someone else can try take it etc, but banks? no, bank should be interchangeable with inventory.. IMHO anyway

 

I stick mine in a small bag to unclutter the list, but wish I get rid of them someday.

 

I wish I could put some quest books as decoration in a library... I mean, I could always copy-and-paste the text if I wanted to...

 

I have a handful of these items as well, to include 2 pesky buckets of water that are uniquely not destroyable.

 

my understanding is that this is in prep for multiple character slots per account, so you can't trade quest items to your alt. there's a lot that doesn't belong on the list, though: crystal swords are pledge rewards, for instance. there's a lot we need a trash can function for, too. i understand why i can't destroy the highvale gate key while i'm in the battle of highvale scene, but it's useless once i leave. put a trash can by the banker in resolute.

 

I have 10 pounds of water that I can't destroy or sell

(and nothing to use it on since I'm homeless)

 

I have a hoe I can not destroy .-.

The solution is to only allow these items in a container marked private. If you try to change it to non-private with at least one of these items in it, then it should alert you and not allow the change.

 

its probably not intentional, and a side effect of iterating fast and doing cleanup later (development-wise). youre also probably an outlier, i would take a guess that most people have 5 or fewer annoying immutable items in their inventory. i pretty much never look at the "all items" view but the categorized inventory views so, i dont notice this problem much. i bet its a lot worse if you use the non list style inventory.

 

Bank must have zero items... *eye twitch*

Backpack must have minimal items...

 

ahhh you don't need to be homeless. Whisper me, I would be happy to give you a place to live. , no need to be homeless if you don't want to, even if you have future plans for a place, until then at least.

 

I now just found out why Themo Lock is upset about this. Why is it that I can't drop my own lottery ticket I just purchased into my own bank vault??

 

Sounds like a bug to do with the "cannot be traded" flag.
