A hello from a new Avatar

Hey fellow Avatars.

I was just reading along the forums, planning on an early feedback post. But it seems there is not much feedback i can add which hasn't been already posted a few times.

So i just thought i leave a little "hello" here (;

P.S. i take tips where to find vendors to buy some starter gear. Thanks in advance

 

Welcome, Scipione! You will be able to buy starter gear in any of the towns near the scene where you start. You will soon want to have some player-crafted gear, because it is better than the gear you can purchase from NPCs. Currently, I have no extra gear, but in my experience, many players gladly sell extra gear that they have crafted to new players very cheaply or even give it away .

thanks for the answer. Sorry i think i did not express myself good enough. I was talking about player vendors for crafted gear, i just searched some cities and player vendors but did only find highend gear to buy. Thought there might be a specific location where players sell "lower" gear eventually

Hi and welcome. You can find affordable lower end crafted gear in the town of Soryn Fields, just south of Resolute.

Snorri in Gladsheim, has some Starter gear left iirc.

 

My advice to you would be to just wear pledge NPC gear until you get a feel for the game and how you want your Avatar to be. Lots of new Crafters will give good deals because it's expensive to level up a crafter.
I still tell people that good gear is like pearls before swine to a n00b like me.

 

Hello @Scipione and welcome to Shroud of the Avatar. Oh and please feedback on your first opinions would be great to hear. Some of us have been here a long time and are very used to the game and know where things are how things work, well pretty much except for the changing things since we are still in development.

I am Majoria in game if i can every answer any questions or help. What type of character did you want to play? Mage, Warrior, Archer? There are no skill caps in this game so you can try out many different things.

A few tips: z toggles combat which regenerates faster if you toggle it off after combat. o is where your emotes are and we can trade some with you as well as talk to all npcs who will train sometimes give you others. b is for your crafting recipe book. Recipes can be bought at vendors, found during your adventures as loot, in chests, and other players can trade recipes to save you gold on recipes that are teachable and reteachable. j is for your journal. k shows your skills and y is how you create a deck.

Don't forget to talk to a trainer who will give you the utility bar which can hold out of combat things like potions, recalls, teleports, sheet music etc. You can bind to a town by talking to a town crier in any town if you don't have your own lot and many players offer housing for players who would like a place to stay to get their bearings or as long as they like. I surely do as well. Happy adventures to you and again welcome.

Oracle Oasis has a vendor that sells cheap New Player Gear... There is also one that sells really cheap gear for new players in Aldwater...

Welcome! I think your feedback is still valuable, the game changes every month so what was said last month isn' a relevant as what you say today.

If you are still near the starter areas, Outlander Help Center and Veritas Sanctuary have under crafting priced low to mid range gear.
