Shroud effects?

I asked some NPCs in a POT town and then some in Ardoris where Jude the begger is and had no luck. I spammed each NPC like 20 times but no increase.

 

Here's my Shroud currently:

If what you show here is true, @kaeshiva (and knowing you I'm pretty sure it is) - then to get my Dex up to +5 I should show a bit more Love.... correct ?

Also, has nobody seen any number beyond 5, or is that truly the max ?
Oh, and by raising Str I am automatically reducing my run speed ??

 

You are reducing the run speed bonus, therby reducint run speed. But your run speed would be at the base run speed, not slower than that.

Come to think of it, I used to always give them a coin.... Just seemed right.

 

I like that to refuse to give a beggar a coin, you have to be a real jerk and offer it to them first.

Is the max run speed bonus 0.5?

 

Hmm. I'm almost fairly certain I've received praise from the Oracle for "showing concern for others" or some such.

Maybe a bug?

 

Maybe @Chris can elaborate on this. Does the magic resistance from the Shroud, Warlock necklace, and tin foil hat include elemental resist?

I ask because potions split resistances into magic resist (includes four schools) and elemental resist (includes four schools).

 

And @Chris - is there any way (or can you create a way) to be able to wear the shroud and gain those benefits... without covering up the gorgeous new Heraldry?

 

Raising truth seems impossibly hard. I spent a good 3-4 hours telling NPCs my name with no change. This is the only way I've heard of raising it, other than resetting quests and doing the whole thing over again. No thank you on that one.

 

Maybe there are some quests that help, like the truth armor quests. I remember that when you turn in the survey for the truth gloves quest that you can choose between telling the truth or lying on 3 different questions.

 

My truth is jacked up for some reason. I have -5 int. I’m positive the graph above for truth is correct. The Oracle scolds me for not being truthful. She praises me for love and courage. I never lied when asked any question. I’m not sure what made it low. I did side with bandits to make it easy to walk through a cave. I also steal items from NPC’s that annoy me because they aren’t on the job when they should be. Sometimes I like to swipe items and then scrap right in front of those lazy NPCs.

Anyway, the fact that quest items take durability hits bugs me to the point that I never wear them. I wear crafted items which may be inferior but are replaceable.

 

Stealing lowers Truth.

For those trying, I think the two elves you can talk to about humans and history in Vertas might raise Truth as well.

 

Anyone know how to lower and raise courage? If I lower courage is that tied to the color of the shroud?
