Is dual wielding going to be implemented in the game? I remember from Ultima Online that there was not much of a dual wield at all (not counting sword and shield). There was however weapons that were fused together into one single item that was dual wield (I think it was like a pair or twin ninja swords). My question is: will we be able to have an actual dual wield such that I could put whatever weapon in my left and right hand, like a sword and a dagger. I mean, I hope that's something that will actually come to life, most (if not every) MMORPG have them now. It would be a downer not to have that. Having a system that looks like the dual wield in Guild Wars 2 for instance would be such a neat thing to see. Anyone know anything about it?
Yes. from the magic-combat-crafting mega thread Blade Skills: In this skill tree is one passive skill (Dual Wield: Decreases dual wield penalty) And a active skill (Double Thrust: Two attacks in one)
Which suggests that anyone can Dual Wield, but with some manner of penalty. I would HOPE that if one went to the trouble of learning that skill that it would not apply only to swords, and that Dual Wielding itself does not apply only to swords.
It seems that dual wielding (from that post you've shown) is only going to be for swords and daggers? That's a little disappointing... Unless I'm reading it wrong?
To me its seems right you can't dual wield polearms or ranged weapons, but bludgeon would make sense. Who wants to be a violent Drummer dual wielding two clubs?
When I read 'Dual Wield ranged weapons', for some stupid reason I pictured someone dual wielding bows and drawing them with their teeth. What is wrong with me this morning?
