Looking for Some Cool Combat Pics

Fireangel was drawn back to the earthly realm for a time, and she took a needed break. When she later returned, she determined that she would revisit the sewers of Kings' Port, and explore beyond the Lich, if possible. It was known that a secret passage lay just beyond his lair. She drew close without detection, yet suddenly the Lich came at her!




Somehow the Lich was weakened. Perhaps the day had held many attacks against this nemesis that lurked beneath the dwellings of men. The lady realized she might find victory this time!



The Lich swung wide, and she was ready. Many might wonder why avatars pursue a foe that returns again from the dead. Here was the reason; weakened and harrassed, perhaps one day the Lich would leave for good. Then would the avatars have served a good purpose.




Weakened and failing to strike well again, the Lich showed that defeat was close at hand. What magic did this dark being know? What studies had it made when it lived? Not enough, for surely it would fall this day.



A mighty swing came at the lady. She planted her small feet. She held her blade ready to thrust.



Down the Lich fell. Fireangel was victorious. This was not likely the final end of it's terror, but it would know the taste of defeat.

 

She brushed herself off and looked up to the undead archers that defended the Lich's hall. Though they had been put down before, they must be overthrown at every opportunity. The undead must be stopped from bringing harm to the living.





Fireangel took her respite upon the strange chest of stone. What power held the sword, she did not know. She looked about, and wondered at what tale had caused the Lich and it's minions to here reside.

 

Over the land she wandered. The lady defended not only herself, but those who would be blatantly attacked as they explored. New Britannia was full of wonder and danger.

Assault on the elves:

 

I see someone else had the same idea as me, and took some in the dry grass fighting elves; I quite liked this "preparing for war" shot though...




I tried to lure an Elf onto the stepping stone for a fight, but he wouldn't come out of the river, so I posed a few blows against the water rushes instead... This was probably the best.



Not combat as such... but it's promise;



The spiders had intense trouble staying on the ground, indeed I found quite a few hovering magically a few feet in the air... this one seemed to understand what the rules of dramatic posture actually meant though;



The best shot I got of the effects of combat (or at least, being set on fire) on lighting...

 

About a month back I couldn’t get away from all the crying out there. Satyr’s robbed me they said. Satyr’s chase me through the forest they said. Pfft, I say there’s a hairy goat leg fetish going around this vale nowadays. Well, after spending most of my free time rootin’ through trees and streams for this “Satyr” critter last month and the beginning of this month’s free time, my attention span was veering farther and farther away because of business: That business being a two day growling stomach.
My nose told me there was a place of decay not far from, well, wherever my feet took me to, so I followed it thinking there was some fat predators’ meat all for me. It was a hole in the ground and this hillbilly klutz fell right into it. I was depressed not to find a giant badger den. Instead the hole was a gathering place for the undead. I hate the undead. Sometimes they smell like food and I blunder right into them following my nose like a brainless zombie.
Let the dancing of the staggering klutz versus the undead horde begin.

Oh that’s right, I can summon help from Mother Nature with air magic and give myself a jolt.


I was doing all sorts of stuff with this air element. Able to make my body spin and twist in ways that just ain’t right!


Whoo yeah! I was in the zone now. Fire, lightning, dance repeated over and over that gave me a wild smile. Finally when I felt I was at the top of the world… bummer. All was silent.

 

After moping about the hallway a crack in the wall caught my attention. Problem is where there is a crack there’s usually gas hanging around it.





Once again I followed my nose. It’s the only direction tool I’ve ever trusted. It leads me into a huge chamber. One that was perfectly suited for the final dance off between me and the undead hordes champion. Let the The Legless Corpse versus the Hillbilly Klutz begin!




Oooeee, that things got a painful axe with an even more painful six foot long blue angel.

Heh heh heh, let’s see how it likes a lit torch.




Yeah that’s gonna work against a critter with no “legs” down below. It responded with a miasmic blast and axe cut that sent me staggering. When your body goes limp and all you can see is the crotch of your opponent with a large pointed shaft, it doesn’t take long to realize this was a losing battle. So I ran back to the hallway and achieved a more powerful goal. I was able to completely forget my training with blades and learned how to be skillful with polearms in a matter of seconds. A children’s show had a character that got more powerful with a can of spinach, I got more powerful with some other-worldly steel forged strip pole. The Legless Corpse dropped from the power of porn star dancing. (OOC: No seriously, there were no worries on my part when I switched over to polearms. Hardly even any good stress in that fight)




That last blast of gas from the lich sent my stomach into a painful growl. You know, there was a time when I laughed at the barbaric hillbilly kids who used to state they ‘were so hungry that they could eat the “south” hole of a skunk’. I’m not laughing anymore.

 

After walking through this endless tomb doubled over from hunger cramps, idiotic me finally realized Mother Nature was showing me the answer this entire time. All this white stuff in the corners of the hall way is webs. Where there are webs, there’s going to be spiders.


There they are, so perfectly built for cooking with their skeleton on the outside. With my tired body in pain I rejuvenated myself with the only song that came to mind.

Yummy yummy yummy,

In my tummy



What’s that you say? There is some illusion, mental breakdown that’s causing this spider to still look alive even after killing it? Nah man, that’s just Willie T. She scuttled over to thank me for dealing with that snaggletooth upstart. While enjoying the shoveling of my face with newly cooked spider meat, she and I had a conversation about how bad things have been with the undead. Like me, she’s been fighting starvation ever since the walking dead showed up. Worthless undead always ruining the food supplies. And they don’t even eat darn it!

She asked me if I’d help her feed on a Red Sash bandit that she would show me the way out. I was only too happy to help. After all, tomb robbers are probably the reason the undead awake to begin with.

 

Well I’ll be Van Dammed. They do exist.

After leaving the tomb my nose caught wind of wet animal hair but it wasn’t dog. With it was a powerful arm pit stench. When I got close to a tree there was an urination smell mixed in. That’s when the braying of a goat made me turn my head to find the thing that started this trek. I’ve finally found a Satyr. Summoning the faithful air and fire elements once again, the satyr felt nature’s wrath mixed with my aggravation of all the whining from fellow… whatever beings we are.


The rotten cheese head gaffed my gourd a good one with its axe. However this critter actually has legs. So I showed it that having a rod of fire between your legs isn’t as great and all powerful as the slang talking brutes think it is.



For something that caused so much fear and agitation it didn’t last long in a fight. Oh well. I did have fun learning something new. I still don’t know where I am. And you can safely bet your big toes I really don’t care where I am. This place is a looker. But once I lay down on this rock and my eyes close, back to the “same old same old”.

 

Hmmm Redfish do you have your graphics turned down? Those look like the Satyrs from R4...
