Thanks for your intervention, buddy. My remark was more aimed to references to "freedom", a desirable value whose meaning has been abused in recent years to serve geopolitical warmongering atlanticist interests.

i prefer to remember them for what they lived for, and stood for rather than when/how/why.

 

In Canada it is known as Remembrance Day. Many countries around the world have similar observances and even if they do not relate to you, having someone take a day or a moment to remember and honour a fallen loved one harms nobody.

Jadawin, I do not post this only to you but to any who feel that this day is a "US-only thing". Several countries participate in this type of remembrance at different times during the year and should be respected. The developers of the game are from the US and so chose to mention it on their special day. I see no harm in this.

 

Strictly speaking, the U.S. also celebrates November 11th, as Veteran's Day.

 

and that's for the living mostly, even though there is some memorial in it as well. memorial day is just to honor the fallen.

 

I do so hate political correctness.

Remembering always those who have fallen in the line of duty. Not just in the land of my birth, but also in the lands of my long fathers past.

 

Making snap judgements on a culture that one doesn't participate in and painting with broad brush generalizations really accomplishes nothing. Every culture has a right to honor fallen heroes despite what any person or political entity says
