How does it work? Does it need a lot? Or can I place it anywhere I want? How big will it be? Can we add a basement?

It's kinda confusing since it doesn't have the normal notes, like the houses in the add-on store.

It sure would be needed more details on a virtual product that is for sale for 75 USD (more than one day work in most western countries)

    Welcome to the forums, @Morgnes

I've seen it clarified that the house is a functional house and will require a property deed. I'm assuming it is designed for a Village lot, but I'm not sure I've seen that clarified.

I believe you can add a basement to any house currently, so I would assume you can safely to this as well.

I've seen the same, ender. I believe it was said to be a village home. Hopefully Rustic Dragon can get this updated to include the standard disclaimer: (NOTE: You will need a Village, Town, or City Level Property to place this home in-game. Citizen Level pledges and higher will still receive the home included in their rewards if they purchase this home as an add-on)

My guess is this will be a house you can buy, and if so, then you'll need a land deed to place it. I didn't see anything about its size, but I would love to see photos of it.

I'm guessing it's going to be a new type of lot deed, so let's just call it a Hill deed. As for size, as there's only one type of Elven house being sold, it'll simply be just a Hill deed. Once they create bigger Elven houses, then you'll likely see varying sizes of Hill deeds.

I'm sure it's going to be a village house, requiring a Village lot deed.
I really want to see what I would get before jumping in on that.
I really want to play elves, and want to support the stretch goal.
If the elven house looks good and desirable, I'll grab the $150 everything package.
If it looks like something I would never use, then maybe not.

*On a Hill* .. well, i would that rather say if a Hobbit house, rather than an Elven one.. wich o would rather associate with trees.

But yes, im curious. Can you imagine a small hill on your village lot? and on the neigbours too... Add some Grass and its Hobbiton ;)

They're not going to put in a whole new kind of lot just for these kinds of houses when they can just build the hill into the layout of the house...

Unlikely, but they did make a new kind of deed for row-houses.
I wonder how elves are supposed to live.. we might get elven towns, with appropiate lots...

Thinking onward... Underground dwarven cities if we get dwarves as playable race...

The Row lots are scalable, though, in the sense that Row houses can be used on larger lots. They're part of the same "chain" that all the other lots are. The only way the "Hill Lot" idea would work if if you're able to claim a Hill lot with any comparable lot deed or higher (like a Village or Town deed could claim a Hill Lot, assuming Hill Lots are about the same size as Village Lots). Otherwise this would create a pointless barrier to lot selection for people who have already purchased lots.

I still don't think it's necessary, though, unless Portalarium really wants to force communities made up entirely of these kinds of structures. So far we have exactly one example of a house on a hill. It would be kind of strange to walk into a village filled with two dozen lots all filled with the exact same house. :p The way things currently stand, it would make much more sense just to bake the model into the house itself, not the lot.

I don't think so. From the description

"A house that is truly one with nature, this house is built into the side of a hill affording natural insulation and harmony with Novia."

So.. the elves live in houses built into hills. Which, by its very nature, means underground.

    Does that make them Drow?

    :p

I'm expecting it will have a small interior, the bonus is, you can place all sorts of exterior decorations/farm the whole lot. yes, also believe it will be village sized.

I'm finding it funny that the elven home is a hobbit hole. I would expect something along a more tree friendly druids tree as the elven affinity is the forest.

There's no reason a tree house wouldn't work for elves. Think of a hut built in the tree amongst the branches with the center support being the living tree.

In medieval and post-medieval folklore, elves became equivalent to faeries, trow-folk, and huldra, which were largely known for living in knolls (knowes) and hills.

Who said this was Tolkein? :>

Yes, and "drow" is related to "trow".
