Actual Trolls?!

1. Can we make a sub-forum under Game Features for Monsters/Enemies?
2. Since there isn't one at the moment, I am posting this here.

After all the troll conversations not related to the game, I got to wondering if there WERE going to be actual TROLLS in the game in the future? If not, why not?

Also, where can I find the current list of planned monsters that will be in the game (if there is one?)

 

There are trolls in the concept art, and Lord British told me it is his intention to have them.
So, I think we'll see them eventually.
I think we haven't seen them yet because they don't have enough staff to create large volumes of content.
I'm sure they're on the list of things to do.
Perhaps they'll use the earth elemental model as a starting point.

 

Trolls, ettins, ogres, other ugly humanoids ..... bring 'em.

 

And those "Headless" creatures!

 

For the Dev+ Content (not sure what exactly can be said), can they create monster models to be used in game also? Or is that just for weapons/items/housing stuff? I was also just thinking about what 3d Modeling package they were using. If it was Maya or Blender or 3dsMax.

 

I think ogres and ettins could be fun to have. I have seen in other games them saying funny things that make me laugh. I also would love to have some dark creatures such as vampires, but not sure they would fit with the lore. It can be so eerie wandering
through a graveyard or eerie forest where there are cobwebs scattered around and eerie sounds. I'd love to have and see many types of creatures and areas in game for us to explore.

 

If it is a Unity ready asset, you can always submit it and see what happens. We do need more creature/monster variety.

 

With this in mind do we yet have a list of all the combat-able monsters in game?
I do realize we are in pre-alpha; however, the reason I ask is that so far I've only fought: Skellys, wolves and spiders oh and the um Liche King.

the avatar council link in my sig has a bestiary section, i cant remember how close they got to completing it before Xmas holidays. There is also slimes, bears, imps, ghosts, kobolds, satyrs, elves and variations on most of them.

That was very uncharacteristic of you. Have you not been drinking? To make that a true Budner post shouldn't it be something like.

 

When we cross a bridge on the overhead map, there should be a chance to trigger a troll encounter.

 

Trolls! Ultima style. Hairy and wielding throwing axes! And Headlesses. They'll need a new name, I'm sure, but they're generic enough. Hairy humanoids with no head.

In Blade of the Avatar, trolls are constructed out of several human bodies.
They're called trolls when they are introduced, and ogres later, but that's a mistake.
They're intended to be trolls.
