I was just curious if anyone knew how large the patch is. From reading it seems people are already in. I have been patching for 2 hours and i am at like 32% and speeds are terrible, guess thats a give though on patch day. Was just curious of the size of the patch total though
I've heard other people have more luck patching on Steam. I've been patching for a good hour (non-Steam), and still going.
Mine's patching now from 0->227 whereas usually it would start from the most recent patch number I'd downloaded, guess that's why it's taking so long? Maybe they've replaced/altered so much that it was easier to start from scratch?
i am at the 0 to 227 myself and only at 58% since my original post. Thinking about starting steam up myself
To say steam is faster is... well its telling me that its going to take an hour to patch when i have been using the regular client an i have been patching since 10:30 and only have 58 % completed with it.... Steam seems to be the winner. Well guess its back to the Kindle lol
Download at steam was 1.7 GB, and it downloaded as fast as the other Steam-downloads/patches, about 5.4 MB/sec for me
2 hours and 28% through. Latency from living in Australia maybe? Haven't had any issues with it before. To play UO I had to use Lowerping to be able to keep up with everything.
I had to restart the download several times to get it going and stop other programs such as skype. Also I don't play on steam. **edited**
Took about 8 minutes to patch through Steam. I recommend anyone having trouble with the SotA launcher to go through them.
I'd second this. I'm in New Zealand and the Steam download took only about 10 minutes. Great speeds for an island that usually has slow international speeds.
i will confirm the patching process takes a while. i was averaging about 214kb and the file is 1.7gb so you can do the math. I think it took me 5 hours. After i downed it, i've been seeding it for 3 hours but no takers... There's a cross thread dealing with AWS vs. (whatever Steam uses) - i'd like to hear which service is cheaper for portalarium for us to use. The Hendoman
Because of the change to Unity 5, so many files were touched the size of the partial download was almost the same size as a full build download. So they went that route instead.
