Feel free to add your experiences here that have made this game so memorable for you.

    My top 2 recently:
    • A played joined Shroud with the name SuxxTObU and his name was changed to Scott Baku by staff. He did not understand why his name was changed, which made it even more comical.
    • The drunken Postmortem, especially when Richard pours the (somewhat) empty bottle on his head. It is something I'd do. See below.

Virtous Whisky is Virtuous. Why not use it for baptizing?

You mean Portalarium or the game itself?

One of the first PvP tournament (if not THE first) event held on a small beach (forgot where exactly). A bunch of people were there including Lord British. I participated and quickly got eliminated. I think Darkstar joined later on. Then we all ported to the underground arena and fought a few rounds: Virtue vs Chaos.

I witnessed Paxlair's celebrating their last day before their new location.

Either or. All facets make up this digital heroin that we spend our time on.

So many things of why I think the game is amazing and why I'm so happy to support it. Being part of the SotA community and watching the game progress really is a journey I'm glad I didn't miss.........it's a bumpy ride but you know that the launch will be worth it.

I remember after a long wait it was announced finally download the game. Before Owls Head was open we were able to login and create a character. You entered the world in single player in a small room with a chair, torch and a few chickens................this for me will always be the most memorable time as it was the start of an amazing journey.

There were also other times that will always stick in my mind such as when you could load multiplayer for the very first time:

And who could forget the gathering in Braemar:

And who can forget meeting 'Nob' the Stableboy for the first time lol

All great times and good memories.........looking forward to launch :)

Agree with Envy and Kit. The community is one of the most amazing things about this game. The journey is probably the best thing about it. Most of us were a part of the Kickstarter where SotA was born...and we watched it take it's first steps in the "Chicken Room". I feel the backers are like surrogate parents and we're witnessing a child we've all helped raise. Hopefully we'll see it mature into a very successful game that we will all enjoy for years to come.

Although off topic: I'd love to see the Chicken Room hidden away at the bottom of a dungeon somewhere. It would be a great easter egg for all the original backers that have been with SotA since the beginning. Maybe there could be a rare chicken in that room that you could tame.

Simply put: SotA is wild and wonderful! I love all the rough edges. I love the team that listens to the players and works along with them. There is no gaming community I've experienced that beats this one. SotAns are wild and woolly pioneers, along with the developers. I raise my glass in cheers to the backers and to the developers. All have great heart! Salut!

    I wish...
I had known about the Kickstarter campaign so I could have been in at the beginning
I had started testing as soon as I made my pledge and didn't wait until R12

I've missed out on so much fun, as @E n v y's post so clearly illustrates :(

Welcome aboard Whyterose! I've only been around for a couple of months--but I think you'll find the community here exceptional. If you need any help or information after you get in the world, just post here and someone will rise to the occasion!

I love that although hostilities and drama may arise in the playerbase, in general, people are mature enough to handle the situations with respect. A little competition is a good thing!
