So I wanted to see what everyone thought of the town's and which ones so far are their favorite. I would say that I really like Ardoris. I love all the canals between city blocks. and the feeling your in an actual city. And I cannot stand owls head, I just do not enjoy the layout of the scene and the houses.

Happy about the variety of the major towns. In the Hidden Vale I prefer Kingsport, since it's a quick run to the bank and skill trainer. Also good fishing there. Problem with Owl's Head is that it takes too much time to walk all the way up to the top of the town where most of the commerce is happening. I do love the scenery in Owl's Head though.

I'm glad we have Ardoris in Novia, and the expanse of the town is fantastic. And loading times are much better now. But I don't really love the city. Seems though that Ardoris and Brittany will end up being the most active cities in Novia. Can't wait to see Brittany.

I like all the towns so far, can not say I have a favourite although having my bank set up at Owlshead might make it my first choice.

Also have to mention, I visited quite a few PoTs this last release, and I loved Spoons Town, can not remember the name of it but the center looked fun and vibrant.

I like soltown because of the gypsy camp and I like the Braemar quests too. Also Ardoris for a lot of details. I think they are all my favorite as they get more and more conversation and details added in.;)

If I were a skeleton I'd live in the Ruined Keep. Nice open air concept. Plenty of Avatars bring in supplies. Plus you get a bridge troll defender.

I also like what they have done with Ravensmoor. Spike traps, exploding doors, and lots of sleeping room in those coffins. Plus the sweet central hall has a cool secret door back to the top for smokers.

Dragons Cave was a great place to be as a Kobold. I liked the colors and baby dragon pets. The town chef made exquisite omelets from those eggs.

Blood River is an ok Elven town I suppose but there is so much tourism these days with the red water and all.

Personally I'm holding out for Brittany. Solania wins for beauty.

I wish I had more reason to go to Solania. It's just hanging out on its own over there.

From what I've seen so far, Solania is a very pleasant place to visit.
I like Owl's Head's layout. Almost every town seems to have a bit of a jaunt to the bank.
King's Port is dandy, being a port town and all. I'm always watching for a sinister pirate ship to pull into port whilst there.
I would like to see a few major cities created near desolate areas.

I would like to see the day when wandering through a city you see something different going on. Perhaps a creature gets past the guards for a few moments because he is hungry and is heading for the vendor food laden stalls, ummm or the venodrs;)

Kingsport is my favorite currently. Not having all the cities/towns in atm though, not sure what will be my real favorite until the game is ready to be released. Least favorite would have to be any of the towns that don't have town lots in them. Of all the areas for housing though, I'd have to say any place without merchants in them are my very least favorites, the PRT's like Valemark, Holtrot, etc. they're lifeless and feel like instanced housing that hardly anyone would care to visit. :(

Interesting, Majoria. I'd like to see that, too.

Are there jails in any towns? It would be fun to have a jail located in town, wherein a few disorderly citizens have been confined. Or, how about the stocks? We could capture a wanted criminal, collect our reward, and be able to throw tomatoes and cabbages at the villain and call them rude names.

The only jail I've seen is the Epitaph in Desolis. But that's not quite what you're after.

    Revisiting this thread...

My original vote for favorite town (Ardoris) was based solely on considerations of convenience. In Ardoris the main shops are concentrated in one area, and the boatman at the entrance will take you to places of interest in the town, including the main square.

There is another aspect about Ardoris that I really appreciate, though. It is the only town to date with its own character. The row houses and canals have a wonderful charm that is not changed by players placing homes of their choice.

The same cannot be said of the other towns. Sometimes towns like Owl's Head and Kingsport look fantastic, and sometimes they look atrocious, depending on what kind of housing has been placed and the subjective taste of the observer.

I like Soltown. It's simple, straight-forward and on a decent environment.

I don't like Solania. Not a fan of the environment it's in, nor the civil engineering.

I hate Ardoris. There's a lot of dead space that's just used for decorations like pillars and electric boxes and it's very impractical to navigate through (lag doesn't help either).
