hmmm, feasibly id take a lot more permanent Bank Slots.
So that I could store all my stuff for my home for a whole month while I build up and wait for the rush to be done.

Lets be reasonable here guys lol.

think of things that would be beneficial to us during the month we cannot place our homes.

A bag of holding which takes 20 objects/40 weight.
Which takes up the "belt" paper doll slot and acts like a container. (To prevent multiples and abuse). So objects in it doesn't go in your inventory.
With a statement that no other such would become available for E1.

That wouldn't be OP but at the same time something very coveted so that it instantly becomes a collectable.
Which is the point if the excersise. We want everyone who'd otherwise speculate on lot rush to go this route instead.

Hmm, a typical reward for getting bumped on an airline is a free round trip ticket to anywhere in the US. ;)

Seriously though, out of all the tradeoffs I've seen so far in this thread, I like the following 3 best (no particular order):

    1. Bag of Holding
    2. Ticket for Ep. 2 Landrush early access
    3. Increased bank slots - But would probably need a little something extra too because once you do get a chance to place a lot, bank slots aren't that valuable.

I don't really care for decoration items or anything without a "purpose" that is just for looks. I also don't think you can give something like added land for a row lot... because not everyone will have a row lot.

The bribe value would need to be based upon the placement order.

I think they should forgo the "land rush" altogether and create an interactive map and just let us claim by plot # from this map, using the sequence they've already laid out... Then the server isn't stressed out, still 1st come, 1st served...

    @OP
they are creating the situation, and you want them to ask you to not use it? (?!?)

the only logic i see there is if you plan on not using it already, and want something for that decision you have already made. - don't assume that i'm assuming you are thinking this way and calling you out on it - i'm not. but i'm not ruling it out either. it is just one of several possible reasons for your post, and the more plausible of them. i'm pointing out the false logic behind that reasoning if it was indeed the intent.

they should let us claim in pots from the minute the land rush starts. no need for them to make us opt-in or opt-out. either we are opting-in by participating, or we are opting-out by not participating. less work for the devs, this way.

also, there should be zero incentives in either direction, the choices made are incentive enough: Fun, by our perspectives.

I'm still scratching my head a little on why an incentive is needed to not participate in the land rush.

If one has no need or interest to participate, simply do not participate.

Or is the point that non-participants need a reward to not participate, because they are giving up camping a lot that they don't need so that they can charge others something for it later?

Re-reading the OP, I can see that it was ambiguous. I have re-worded it to more accurately reflect the situation:

During the last Postmortem stream it was suggested by Portalarium that they might offer players some kind of incentive to not participate in the land rush.

How about a land deed that you can hang on your wall or on a table that goes up in flames and dissapears, then returns again :p

grattitude womby. :) to put my reaction here a little closer to home, i had just recently posted this which had a different slant altogether on what the devs were going about it.

still don't think they should offer incentives for it. too many complainers will claim something or other.. just open up the pots from the start and then let the player choose their own level of what "fun" is.

bear in mind, this is coming from someone who doesn't want to partake in the landrush in the first place.
