Just like to say hello to all. im a new player and loving the game so far but still learning, hope to be a trader in this game.

Just one question , is it worth me learning the mining skills and others at all until july for the last time they wipe the server, do i lose my skill points that i have gained when there is a server wipe.

 

Yes you will lose it at the big wipe. But youll have knowledge which is far more valuable then going in blind.

P.S. Learn skills but dont get comfortable and rely on them past wipe. With nerfs and changes dont expect everything to stay the same. They are changing stuff per update.

Welcome kenvic1! To answer your question, you lose all your skill points when there is a server wipe, however so far with each release they have awarded XP at 4x the normal rate until you reach the adventurer and producer levels you had before the wipe.

 

Well that is at least xp x4 is a good thing , roll on the final wipe , so i can get the trading started.

Welcome kenvic1 to Shroud of the Avatar. I am majoria in the game and I'm happy to answer any questions if I can. Whisper me in game to say hello anytime. Emotes are under the 'o' key, 'f' for friends, right click friends name for options to whisper and also you can right click another player to see options to trade, duel, friend, etc. Of course I'm sure you know 'z' to toggle combat already. Zone is going away but still here for now. You can zone to another player by typing /zone player name. If you have a house you can hit the 'u' key outside of chat window always and zone to lot. You can hit 'p' key to see available housing in an area. It will show a streaming light. So just a few things for you. Take care, and *cheers*

I think a lot of people are missing this truth. Knowledge is power in this game. Where to go for various resources, how to level up, how to set things up...

 

You're very welcome, my pleasure. Oh and I forgot if you are talking whisper to someone and need to get back to local chat because someone comes up to you and says hi, just type /l to get to local. If you're in a guild or when type /g for guild chat, type /p for party chat and always /l to get out of any of them. Chat is not yet what I want but it is better than it was. You can open another chat window and just click the drop down arrow to filter out all the game stuff, combat stuff, npcs talking and switch back and forth so you don't miss conversations. It is the latest fix to our chat. Now if we could just drag the conversation chat window out and put it where we want, that would be so terrific. *crosses finger for more chat options* .

 

The forum interface and commands is the same as mortal online , my previous game.

If you're going to be a trader, you'll want to scout around in places like Ardoris, Kingsport and Owls Head on the public vendors to get a general idea of what people are selling and for how much. You'll also see many private vendors on player lots. It's worth checking those as well.
