instead of getting angry i am proud of getting a warning from mmorpg cause some idiot commented that richard garriot looks full of himself on the new video at new york gaming conference.
i said that LB has been making games before that person was born and said the person was an idiot and can he or she do better.

Well, on second thought, let's not go to Camelot MMORG. It is a silly place.

Well, you could have done it without calling the guy an idiot. That's uncalled for. Most of the time people are just uninformed or biased for whatever reason. It's probably not worth your time or sanity to care about what other sites say, especially since you are bound to get immaturity and ignorance in any sufficiently large sample group.

In most cases, these situations are not about convincing THAT person they are wrong, but providing comments for the next impressional person that comes across the comment. As such, it usually better to have the cooler, more respectful stance as the next person will most likely pay more heed to the person not acting like an asshat. I did not read any of these posts, so I am speaking generically.

RG has earned his criticism. Even though he has done some great and revolutionary work, he has also had some major failures of which are the most recent. In addition, he can be a little cocky too. :)

I think FireLotus' past statements about being ambassadors works for off sites too, and when we are defending SOTA from nay-sayers we need to be aware of the broader audience and how our own retaliation will be perceived.

Rufio, do you mean "mmorpg.com"? Where can that discussion you are referring to be found? It's not the first time that I was looking for a SotA discussion on "mmorpg.com" that has been referred to here in the forums, but couldn't find it. I find the "mmorpg.com" site exceptionally messy. I even tried to search for "sota" and "shroud of the avatar" in their forums, but couldn't find anything (which was kind of a surprise). I fear I'm not "mmorpg.com" compatible /-:

So, what you're saying is, we need to be the adults we want them to become. That sounds like good advice.

You'll just see a lot of rantings about SoTA, the dev team, and everything else from one "Aragon100" which I'm guessing was banned from here for being the idiot that he is there as well. Good riddance.

The great thing about the Internet is that it gives everyone a voice.

MMORPG. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

Aragon isn't the only one there being difficult I see. I don't know, the place seems upside down to me. The guy who was banned from SotA forums is out there defending SotA to the MMORPG angry mob. Is everyone high!?

Rephrase what you wrote with linked reasons why you think it is the case. I never understood the warning system there it seems random or you just say something which a staff member disagree's with.

Sounds like you were warned because you called them an idiot not because you were defending LB. Not sure I'd brag about that tbh.

Well I don't comment on MMORPG.com much. Last time I did I got a warning and my post deleted. Of course I was unhappy with someone who was going on about SOTA being just another Ultima. I assured him it wasn't in a somewhat aggressive manner. Boy was I wrong.
But I watched the NY video as well and my first thought was the same. He does seem quite full of himself.
