SotA Con – A Shroud of the Avatar Fan Convention – Nov. 4-6, 2016

I've also had several people ask about the way to get a cloak.
There is even a second thread asking questions.
I referred them to this thread but the questions still persist.

The last question I was asked is, how will they receive the cloak and when will it be available?

I told them it is likely to be available just before or after the Con and will be under the Claim Rewards section. I'm not sure how the 'game access' will be determined if the avatar name or SOtA name is not added to the account at registration.

It's pretty straight forward

1. Go here http://east.sotacon.org/register
2. Enter $25 in the first option marked "DONATION" and press "ORDER NOW"
   
3. This goes to eventbrite, fill out forum including the Avatar Name under "Other Information"

The only people that should have concerns are those that contributed before eventbrite was used. That is an issue for the organizer to deal with.

 

Yes I know the procedure but apparently it is not that obvious to a lot of people.

 

can people that own multiple accounts pay 25/per each account and get a cloak on each account?

I did it this way to donate to SotA Con and for qualifying for the cloak:

2.1 Scroll down to Donate: (made without recieving a ticket) and hit the Donate button.
3.1 Login to PayPal and enter $25. Open textfield (Please enter Avatar Name or "Anonymous") and fill out with your Avatar Name.

Yeah, I donated very early to the GoFundMe campaign, so hopefully tgats enough. Of course, I need a cloak and hat stand to hang all my wearables already.

 

Not not that. i have no official spot with them, just close to what's going on. I had saw all the dashes below my quote of your post and wondered how I screwed that up.

 

I'm submitting a list of emails to the devs (based on back-and-forth with devs asking if they wanted avatars, account names, OR emails). Avatar name is not the best way of getting this done. I think we'll be able to sort things out but it's risky to rely on that.

Attendees can easily edit their emails on eventbrite.

Donations should be made from the same email address when it's at all possible. Anything after that will be something that may require a support ticket to correct (since it obviously wouldn't meet the "account must have shroud game access").

That's how you get a ticket to attend. The donation below works as well. Also, they shouldn't be concerned. On go fund me I recommended using the SotA account email in case something like this happened so it has always been tracked.

Avatar name isn't how we track, simply by email. Anyone using another method may end up needing to submit a support ticket with Portalarium as they aren't meeting the active account requirement if they use the wrong email. I'm 99% sure we'll get everyone sorted but you are taking a risk of delay and issues by not using the correct email. I've been straight forward about this recommendation since day 1.

To be very clear: PLEASE STOP TRYING TO BUY TICKETS FOR $1-$2 ... I will keep refunding them. Donations can be any amount... ticket purchases are a minimum of $25. To get a cloak for donating it must be a minimum of $25. If you donate and don't buy a ticket IT WILL BE CHEAPER for you by more than a dollar due to eventbrite fees for getting a ticket.

I'm not sure where the confusion is here... I'll try to explain it again. Sorry for those who still feel there is something confusing.

If ((you donate $25 or more using PayPal OR buy any ticket) AND (have a shroud acount with game access))
then you get a cloak.

Thanks again everyone! There have been 8 cloak donations and it's really appreciated. Currently, for a catch up on registration numbers, we have 66 people registered to attend. That means the cloaks are one of the rarest items still with only 74 of them being planned to be awarded (shameless plug for rare collectors who may want to support the con)!

 

There isn't a place to purchase tickets for Medieval Times (I got my tickets to SotACon before I noticed the announcement.) Should I make separate purchases for me and my husband to attend the dinner? Will there be enough people going from the con to Medieval Times to merit getting Super Shuttles between them? We locals might be good for taking guests between venues but it would be nice to be free to partake of the wine that they serve at the jousts without worrying about providing safe rides.
