Stick loading new area - 98%

Stuck loading....

Is this normal when going to a new area it sometimes bugs out?

Been sitting at 98% to load a new town for like 5 minutes.

Guess i have to kill the game and relog?

Update
Killed tge .exe file, relaunched game. Clicked Resume. Same thing. Will try restarting PC and start on world map and try to enter area again.

 

Yesterday was fine and now today I am stuck loading , goes to 98% and stops. I have restarted so far nothing helps. I am trying to get into Owls Head. Several encounters loaded well.

It was Owls Head for me too.

PC Restart, starting on world map.... walking closer to town, select enter. Worked for me.

 

Glad you got it working CodeDaddy! Apologies about the stuck issue . We still have a few of them around. You can usually use the /stuck command, or restart and re-enter the world like you've done.

 

Stuck again trying to get back into owls head from world map. 98% is where it freezes.

Tried closing game, entering on wprld map and trying again to entef owls head - no luck (twice). Tried starting in Owls Head upon resume,,,, no luck.

Guess my next step is a PC restart....

Kinda sux.

Crikey! A pc restart didn't even allow me into owls head. (Not responding)

Moving on i guess. Been 20 minutes so far trying to get into this town again. Not sure how i will be able recover my banked items. Bugga!

Yeah Owls Head is acting up again. It’s been noted in the bug reports. All you can do it just keep trying. :/

 

A guildie had this problem as well trying to load into Owls Head and did all the steps everyone else has tried. To resolve the guilie's problem I went to town. I had him join me in a party, which sets the mode to private i believe. I then had him teleport to me. You can ignore the party thing and try setting your mode to private or multi if it's private as such.

Hit escape key or options menu, Select Multiplayer tab, select Private. Try entering now. If it works or not please post back.

 

What eventually worked for me was recalling in... as it was my bound spot.

Still happening when trying to teleport into OWLs HEAD.

What's wrong with this place that it does this?

Game freezes at 98% loading and I have to completely shut everything down.

This has been a problem for a few releases now. A common suggestion is to NOT use "Fastest" video mode. Some say you should use "Beautiful", but "Good" seems to work for me. I think this just changes the distance from in your view for resolution changes, so it's not much extra work for your GPU to use Good.

If you change the video mode and it does NOT help, we (players and devs alike) need to know so that we can find something else to suggest.

 

Yeah, since I switched to GOOD and shadows to low (low shadows runs fine for me), I haven’t had any problems since. I did this a while ago. Perhaps this tip might help some of you too.
