    Dr. I totally agree and I also think that field dressing should be a skill as well, and be advanced to the level that specialty organs. The craft can be itemized with a window of what parts of the creature you want to dress from it. You know you advance in the skill.

    Love the ideas being put forward in this thread, I'm very keen on the one in the OP if it could be done.

    I've been hoping that falling trees will eventually cause damage to anything that gets in the way - not necessarily based on skill, because with common sense you would check which way it's going and move out of its path, though skill could influence the direction of fall towards/away from you - it would make for interesting 'combat' tactics if a wolf is harassing you, for instance, and also add a bit more realism and make you think about the effects of your action.

    I have no idea how practical this would be to program, but it does offer a lot of very good extras to mining. The ability to continue extracting resources from a particular spot, based on skill and chance and extra risks if you are trying to extract in a mine, these risks reduced by skill again.

    I hope that mining will not be just doubleclicking the node, but something bit more complex, with some deeper involvment of player. I love the suggestion in the OP.
