I decided to try to write my backstory in game. I got my magic printing press and placed it on my village lot. I clicked on it.

    Just a few questions:

    Where can I get recipe's?
Where can I get blank books?
In blank books can you write your story?
How can you publish a book to put on the press?

    Thanks!

To publish - put your completed book with x amount of blank books. Then press publish.

Blank books - from the bookseller in owls head. In the upper parts by the blacksmiths.

Double click the blank book to import or write your story in it.

It's a great process they added to the game. I literally just put my book I want copied and the blank book into the window and then magically, I have a copy of my book.

Sweet just figured out the import text. I have to break my story up into multiple books though lol, as it is way over the 8000 char limit :). It is very nice however that we can import the text.

Another, Lesser known function of the Magical Printing Press is the ability to completely duplicate a book, custom cover and all. Simply drop a book that has been crafted and reskinned, into the press with NO blank books and press CRAFT. You will get a replica of that book, custom cover and all. You get a few a week, I think maybe 8 or so... then the Craft button wont light up.

I guess I just do not know what the recipe's are for the printing press. Can you buy them? What do they do? Is there a list of them somewhere?

Does anyone know if the Magical Printing Press is also used to make new Sheet Music?

You can get patterns for your books to change the cover.

ok, so a pattern = recipe. Now it makes more sense. I was thinking they where 2 different things.

I think this is the difference between the Magical Printing Press and regular printing presses.

Patterns are applied at the tailoring station.

The printing press does nothing but make copies. No recipes exist at all, no reshaping, nada.

If you are copying a book that has had a pattern applied to it AND you have your free copies of the week still remaining, the pattern will carry over. As @Aartemis said, you can know by putting just the book you want to copy in. If the button says craft, you're making free magical copies including, including reshaped covers!

If you're having to put in blank books for the copies ( no free copies left at the moment) then the pattern won't come across.

No you cannot make copies of sheet music and really that would not be a great thing for anyone who makes sheet music as a trade. Imagine actually taking time to covert and download abc or midi files and then adding them in game and then you make a sheet music and everyone can just copy it. Well just a thought;). You can make copies of books, notes, and bulletin board flyers. If you want to hang up the paper you wrote you would use a bulletin board flyer which can be hung on more than the bulletin board. Paper does not hang. These can be crafted.
