I think the house is quite good in fact - it does seem to be that the team gets better with each iteration. If the Founder house was done first, and the Benefactor house happens to appeal more, then no matter - as has been said countless times, we have the choice of either.

@Rufus D'Asperdi - I respect your architectural criticisms, and I'm sure they are valid, but I reckon most of us will just assume that in a land with magic, moongates and portals the normal laws of physics don't necessarily apply. I can guarantee the owners won't get wet!;) Of course if you just don't like it, that's a valid opinion:)

I'm with many others - hanging out for a peek at the benefactor lord's house!

Very true. The stairs outside the wizard's tower come to mind specifically. Regarding the Baron's house, the one thing that sticks out to me (an average player with no architectural knowledge) is the roof. It does look like its going to collapse as Rufus suggests, especially where it sticks out over the porch, and the jutting edges on the top look superfluous. Still, I think it looks nice over all.

    Magic isn't fixing ugly.

And are you actually suggesting that I've no right to speak up about something I think is sub-par?

Going back and looking again, and trying not to be distracted by the horror on top, the rest of the house looks fine. There are a couple little things I would change on the exterior, and the interiors look fine. The roof ruins an otherwise well done home. It's too weighty. It's disproportionately large and blocky, as well as architecturally unsound.

Hand this model to the judges over at Star Citizen for the "Next Great Starship" competition and I bet you'd experience some real negativity.

Is ugly for you, not for me and others. That is a subjective point of view.

When I did my Lego designs of a few of them I found a number of instances of structures that wouldn't work: Roofs not having proper support, joints that wouldn't be strong enough, Lack of arching in horizontal space. I'm not an architect, but even I saw a lot of flaws.

And yes, I realize few people care :)

I was feeling that for example in the founder Eldelmann roof.

There is a right way to voice opinions without quoting someone's post just to troll them.

You are right to voice your opinion in a polite manner.

I kind of like it myself! Not sure what all the fuss is about. I think we the guys should be allowed to program and design for aesthetics when it comes to housing, a lot of people are in it just for the houses and I'm sure they aren't going to enjoy any square brick or thatch box houses, while perhaps more accurate and 'legit', very very ugly and boring.

This is not ugly or boring!

**in best Emerson Winchester III voice** It's clearly mustard.

    :)

I think they both look great and would be tickled pink to have either one of them. But alas...... /sad face

Agreed it kinda looks like they couldn't make up their minds about the design.

Well, I did not fall in love with it on first look - so the design has lost for me.
It's a matter of taste, and taste is something you cannot argue about.
