    Hi all,

I have enough timber to build my own house now, but need to raise my Carpentry a bit. Any tips which are the best/most efficient items to power-craft my skill up?

    TIA!
    Oy.

Salvaging bows, hammers, staves, wands, etc. You'll be above 60 before you know it.

Agreed! The only caveat is to get a large XP pool first. Do a ton of gathering with the skills turned off in 4~5 skull areas

Not really necessary or helpful to build a large pool, until you skill is 70+ (when proportional xp spending kicks in), a small 30k pool is good enough per trip until then. and most people are done rasing carpentry in the low 70's.

just make sure to turn off salvaging skill soon as it's where you like it.
Otherwise it will eat all your xp.

I thought houses require a very high skill rating (proficiency not Lv)

Yeah agreed, salvaging is the way to go to raise your base skill for sure, and as a bonus youll get tons of scraps to use to save you raw materials (except leather ofc)

Basicly any time you use a skill it will gain, using up xp from the pool to level up. What you are making purely affects the amount of xp that is added to the pool and not the gaining, ie making a table might give 100xp but a house might give 1000 to the pool. The attempt itself will just consume however much xp that skill is consuming at its level for 1 tick of gain.

And if you run out of pool, just lock all your processing skills at 50-40, youll be max 95% on processing then anyway , then every mat you process will refill your pool.

Is the salvaging skill worth raising?

Be sure to use a True bronze carpentry hammer and a +5 carpentry table to boost your proficiency beyond your level.

Salvaging increases your metal and wood scrap output; I don't think it's a high priority, but 40-60 is helpful.
