Maybe it could be a seasonal thing, like when Krampus is active (because his minions are zombie children).

The Archlapin has zombie rabbit-followers, too.
As the plague was gone before I started to play - what were the game mechanics of it?
Desstroy zombie before it closes or if hit in melee be infected?

If you were hit by a zombie, it had a chance to infect you. Once infected, the only way to remove it was to drink a cure plague potion or leave the scene. If you didn't remove the infection then it would do increasing amounts of damage each dot and eventually it would overwhelm your ability to heal and you would die. Once dead, your corpse would turn into a zombie.

I always wanted to fight my own zombie but I could never get that last part to work.

So unlike the poisons used ingame it had ever increasing dot without an upper limit?

Wasn't it removed because it would persist past leaving the scene, and could infect NPCs? (Or am I confusing that with what happened in WoW?)

But do you not like the plague or did you not like the bugged plauge that was different than intended?

I did not like either the plague itself or the bugged version because of the need to waste a slot in my utility bar just for it.

That seems to be diseases in most games. Sounds good on paper, but always leads to some sort of unfun mechanic.

    I don´t see the problem.

We already have "Cure Plague" potions in the game that work to cure the plague - and only then would have a purpose again.

And when they fix the bug that the plague persisted on changing the zone it will be harmless compared to the descriptions of players who still experienced the original buggy plague.

Would be an opportunity to get to wear those plague doctor masks/hats.

I addressed that in my post when you asked why I'd rather not have that stupid thing around again:

You can also create a new deck and assign it there. It doesn't have to be your utility bar.

I thought it was interesting and added a bit of depth and choice for it to persist and infect others. Similar to what they did in World of Warcraft.
