    I just want to know if I can play this game through the content in single player online. I hate getting spammed with guild requests and friend requests, its almost claustrophobic. Why can not people just leave people alone and play?

    Because teleporting to a person on your friend list is the quick transit system in the game.

    I don't think anyone said that. Just that there are benefits to having a full friends list, in that it makes travel fast. The map is small enough that it shouldn't matter, but still annoying to get friend bombed as soon as you log in.

    Putting aside the fact that the game isn't finished yet.. how other people play doesn't make it a Lord British game or not.

    I guess it does not matter, as long as it does not affect me.

    @The Obsidian Eye

    You can, but just be aware that during the main quest line the more obvious routes to the various vaults and crypts lead through PvP scenes. Even if you are playing Single Player Online, the moment you enter those scenes it immediately loads you into Multiplayer Online. I had to learn this fact the hard way lol :D

    I would not mind an underground map to go with the above ground map to make the guessing easier.

    These three should be updated unless it just shows up for me only.

    You got that right, it really drives me nuts, but there are alternate paths. Are they obvious, as straightforward or even as interesting as the Ruins? No way, not even close, but I am hopeful from @Lord British comments that, that will be forthcoming.

    I have actually started a new character offline and the experience has been pretty good. Don't get me wrong, it still needs some work to be compelling, but I am having fun. :D

    Folks, pvp wasn't the topic. Answer the man's questions and let pvp go.

    Yes you can play through the game content in single-player online mode if you want. The parts of the main story line quests that have combat are solo-only instances, so you are effectively forced into single-player online mode. And the PVP areas can be gotten around by taking a longer and less obvious way.

    Be aware that you are not expected to blitz through each story line quickly. There are parts where you need to raise your skill levels (and even your skills as a player sitting in front of a computer) by quite a bit before continuing to the next step. You should switch to another of three story lines when this happens.

    However, single-player online will generally be harder than offline play. In offline play they plan to have NPC companions to help you in battle. You are not expected to be able to kill boss monsters solo in online mode. And the economy is balanced toward selling loot and crafted items to NPC vendors, which means that it will be easier to get money.

    I play in multiplayer but I ignore chat completely. People could spam me 24/7 and I would not notice
