A nice chat with NBNN News today brought up a debate on this particular book you can acquire in game, and majority of the viewers agreed to this suggestion:

How about making this book some sort of gold sink?

This book is in my opinion a very nice addition to the game, providing an official source on loot locations, is a nice step forward with dev help on an aspect people would love about loot "Loot Hunting". By knowing where these recipes can drop, players can actually hunt with a specific goal in mind in a specific scene, and this is GREAT.

But why make it free? Adding a cost to this book can help generate a gold sink, and makes sense! Poor Caravaggios giving out his knowledge for free, how can he keep up his stocks of blank books he needs?

So yeah! I am all in for this type of book in the game, I would actually love to see this for many other thinks (Bounty hunters could give artifact locations!), but adding a cost to the book would be great!

Alternatively, make this a quest reward. Maybe the first time you do the painting forgery quest for him, he gives this as a bonus.

Caravaggios Wolf is a prominent art dealer NPC in Ardoris, who is located in an art store just on the edges of the main market square. If a player prompts Caravaggios with the phrase “framed maps” phrase, Caravaggios will provide his knowledge of these recipes and even provide a book which was written by one of his colleagues. This book has very helpful information as to the location for each of these recipes.

According to a Update post by SOTA.

The Art store is directly south of the Oracle Conservatory

Curious and maybe I missed it, but what about those of us that got a map book as a pledge reward or for the old maps that dropped in earlier zones in the game? Is there a conversion thing?

    Greetings Cirsee
This was a Pledge reward starting at the Navigator level. The reward was mostly the "Hand Drawn" Mini Maps with a container that looked like a book to store them in. You could carry all the maps around with you while you traveled with out taking up 32 spaces for the maps by putting them in the Novia Map Atlas. You can still find this Novia Map Atlas and the 2 map upgrades on vendors if you want them.

Here is the Novia Map Atlas information from SOTAWiki.

Thanks Warrior, yes I know about the atlas, was just wondering if these framed maps were an upgrade or change to the maps in the atlas. I also still have those dropped maps, the map of Ardoris in a rolled up scroll form. Just curious if they have a connection or if this is a totally separate item.

The maps from the atlas look like rolled up parchments when viewed separately. They could be placed in the utility bar and when needed clicked on and they would show like hitting the M key now.
