    Greetings!

    Communicating in game is frustrating at the best of times, and a train wreck once you have 40-50 avatars in a single location.

    Suggestions:
    1. Chat tabs should be separable from the chat window
    2. Ability to lock windows in addition to pinning them
    3. Locked windows (not pinned) should be immobile/non-resizable
    4. Locked chat window partial transparency when inactive
    5. Click-through support on chat windows
    6. Add filter by whisper target
    7. Shift-click an avatar's name in chat to paste into the active text input box

      -mostly "go to previous/next word" because that is driving me crazy
    9. Flowing chat input element, increase in rows and line breaks as we type

    Some of those sound nice, some sound suited for WAY more chatting than i do, but I'd be happy just to have the input box more than one line tall.

    I am almost too embarrassed to ask this but I am going to do it anyway. Why don't people just speak through their speakers to chat for real instead of typing (which can never really be chatting because it is typing). It was like when young people used AOL because they did not know that EarthLink was always more powerful. Is it because their computers can't handle it?

    Nothing to be embarrassed about.

    I feel we need a robust text chat in order to facilitate those eventual conversations. We need a way to connect and communicate before a player has a chance to join a guild that has their own voice chat. We need a way to allow the in-game communications that will always be outside of the realm of voice chat.

    There was no way we could have handled 54 guests at our Ostara Ball event in the same voice server and been at all communicative.

    Please join in the conversation, and you'll notice that there are a good number of folks that agree it needs a better implementation.
