Chest Mimic Feedback

At first I was amused by the homage to the AD&D Monster Manual. Then I was annoyed by not being able to target them before they attacked. Then I was just tired by their obviousness. This is a cute gimmick, that's all. Please don't litter dungeons with them -- especially dungeons with no. other. chests. It feels exactly like being required to walk up to each skeleton, tap them on the shoulder, and politely ask them to hit you first before being allowed to hit back. Which I suppose has its own "virtue."

 

Mimics are a homage to the original Ultima's....

 

I think they were cute, and looked great. I agree they shouldn't be over-used, however.

 

I know they're old school Ultima, but I'm also reminded of the Luggage from Discworld.

 

First Chest Mimic I found nearly had me jump out of my chair.

 

I totally love mimics!

 

The mimics are great. The first one DID surprise me even when I knew they were in the game.

I hope they DO NOT give any sort of "tell" and that their placement does change from time to time to keep people on their toes.

Also, it will be nicer once their loot table is a bit more defined than just a small pile of gold.

 

The tongue was a little out of control

 

It would be fun to find some animal bones in them sometimes

My first experience with those cuties: Oh nooo - eaten by a chest!

 

Their cool but I prefer the mimics of u8 they could be chests and many other shapes much more interesting and difficult detailed and immersive I don't like watered down stuff.

 

I remember reading that issue....ah the memories.
