I don't know if this has been answered before, but when gem mining, is there any crafting use (currently) for uncut gems, crystal fragments, and the like?

The recipe for the ruby is
    1 - Uncut Ruby Gem
    2 - Sulfurous Ash
    1 - Chemicals
    1 - Mortar and Pestle

    And the sapphire is
    1 - Uncut Sapphire Gem
    2 - Mandrake Root
    1 - Chemicals
    1 - Mortar and Pestle

And where would one actually find those elusive recipes? I haven't seen them anywhere.

Part of me hopes--in vain most likely--to forge a jeweled long sword with a weapon cut sapphire. Like the look of the weapon over the standard long sword.

Then again, if the kobold warhammer was craft able....

From the size of the kobold war hammer if those things were real you'd hurt yourself trying to swing those things around. Those are more like mauls than war hammers. :)

I don't expect all recipes will be for sale. Some should be discoverable.

might have seen one on a trader in owlshead..think it was close to the skill trainer. or maybe that was to combine the gems with the weapons? meh, migrane is preventing me to go in game and look.

i just figured it out though. second one was easier once i figured out the first.

Well, I happen to know the NPCs that sell recipes in Owl's Head don't sell those.

either way, it'll get in there sooner or later as a recipe, or something to explore. as long as it is possible to obtain somehow, thats what REALLY matters.
